We specialise in helping international students make informed and competitive applications to UK universities, by pairing a purpose-built online learning platform with expert tutors from top UK universities.
How we started
In 2010, two Oxford University graduates decided to build a company that could offer the same exceptional Oxford education that they had experienced as undergraduates to students around the world.
In pursuit of that goal, founders Rob Phipps and Harry Hortyn built our sister company, Oxford Summer Courses, into an award winning summer course provider.
As the company grew, so did their vision; what about delivering this experience to students who couldn't travel to the United Kingdom? And so in 2020, Melio was born, to connect students all over the globe with exceptional educational experiences.

Rob Phipps
CEO
After studying at Oxford, Rob co-founded Oxford Summer Courses before branching out into online learning and building Melio on the belief that top tier education should be available worldwide.
Rob enjoys travelling, his highlight being time spent backpacking around Mexico.
Emily Bisset
Head of Product
Emily graduated from Cambridge in Modern Languages and went on to work in educational publishing for 6 years.
Since 2018 she has been a part the Melio team and in her spare time enjoys family walks, swimming outdoors and seeking out beautiful views.
Sayantani Mitra-Jones
Partnerships Manager
Sayantani grew up in India before moving to the UK for a Masters degree in Social Anthropology at the University of Oxford and joined Melio in 2022.
In her spare time she likes to relax by practising yoga and reading, as well as playing with her very energetic puppy.
Ben Tomlinson
Digital Operations Manager
Before joining the Melio team in 2021, Ben worked in operations for a number of different international education companies, as well as spending time living and working in France.
In his spare time, Ben enjoys walking his dog, going for runs and playing rugby.
George Mermeklis
Web Developer
George grew up in Greece and lived there until he moved to the United Kingdom to join the Melio team in 2019.
He returns to the beautiful Greek sunshine whenever he can and in his spare time is very competitive about playing computer games.
