How the University Preparation Program works

Our program takes you on a journey through your UK university applications. We'll help you through each stage of the process, from exploring different course options to writing personal statements, admissions test preparation and mock interviews. You'll learn via live online group workshops and tutorials, and access to our learning platform.

You can choose to join us for the whole program, only for Part One (for 15-17 year olds), or only for Part Two (for students in their final year of school or 17-19 years old). See full program details here.

Getting started

Planning ahead

November-January

As you are immersed in the course content, you'll focus on understanding UCAS and researching UK universities so that you can think about which open days you might want to attend (in person or virtually). You'll also think about where your strengths lie so you can use this to plan your future.

Drafting your personal statement

February-March

You'll have more 1:1 sessions as you turn your attention to your personal statement. Our expert guidance counsellors will teach you to craft a compelling narrative for admissions tutors, and how to edit and hone your own work. Preparing to submit your application

Summer holidays

You will use your summer holidays (August) between Part 1 and Part 2 of the program to do independent work to get yourself into the best possible position ahead of submitting your application to UCAS. You'll continue to work on your personal statement and start to work through mock admissions test papers.

Admissions tests

September

You will also step up your work on preparing for any admissions tests you might need to take. You will have a group workshop on admissions tests and will also be expected to work through mock admissions tests in your own time, before you go through these in your 1:1 sessions with your tutor.

Interview preparation

October-January

Depending on the universities you're applying to, you will have a number of sessions focused around interview preparation.
